Working with Josephine for the third time and Sturla for the first time, I worked with a hybrid film emulation which felt fluid and textured but which also allowed the shadows room to have rich detail and nuance, since so many of the interiors of the film live in the shadows. One goal was to let the images have a filmic analog hand made feel of film, but not be explicitly nostalgic and allow a modern more sharp edged feel when appropriate, as the film is ways a blend of old and new.
